This came out of an idea in a post I made on Social Software Intellectuals :
"I just started wondering whether there was some kind of scope for cross-over with a buyers co-operative or mutual society. Imagine a premium paid tribe service that offered, say health insurance or unemployment insurance. Or a pension.
How many freelancers and young professionals are here and in Friendster who should be putting money into these kind of things, but don't think of it? And who the insurance industries fail to communicate with.
The buyers' co-operative might also be applied to other things too. Shared houses? Shared servers? In fact, I'm off to set up a tribe for it now ... "
Buying health insurance etc. is a big goal. But I'm wondering about smaller ideas.
